How to properly water your knight star
After planting, do not water the amaryllis at all, otherwise it will only sprout leaves. Only when the first buds appear do you start the water supply. That is how it goes:
- Put a little water in the saucer at the same time as the flower shaft sprouts
- If the substrate surface feels damp, pour out the coaster again
- Only water from below when the soil has dried 1 to 2 cm deep
The degree of evaporation increases in proportion to the growth of flowers and leaves, so you should now water more frequently. Continue this water supply until July in order to gradually reduce the watering amount during this month. From August the knight's star receives no more water until the beginning of the next budding.
