Chanterelles in sparse woods
In forest locations with shrubby vegetation on the ground, a search for chanterelles is rather hopeless. On the other hand, light forests with mossy soils offer ideal conditions from May to October to discover the gold of the forest along the way. During this typical harvest time for chanterelles they like to grow from the loose forest soil near spruce, fir and beech trees.
Tips & Tricks
The type of tree population affects the consistency of the chanterelles. In deciduous forests, for example, they are usually more solid than in forests with conifers.
