How is devil's tongue properly poured?

Devil's tongues that you plant directly in the garden do not usually need to be watered. Only when the earth is completely dry should you give some water. But avoid waterlogging.

Pests hardly ever appear on the devil's tongue. This is probably also due to the not necessarily pleasant smell of the flower.

If the tuber rots or molds, the substrate is too moist.

How is Devil's Tongue overwintered?

The bulbs of the devil's tongue are not hardy. They are removed from the earth in autumn and overwintered in a frost-free place at around five degrees. It shouldn't be warmer because the tubers will sprout too early.

Be sure to store the tubers in the dark on some sand or in wood wool. To prevent the devil's tongue bulbs from drying out too much, you can spray them with a little water from time to time.

Tips

Devil's tongue can be reproduced quite easily. The mother tuber forms several daughter tubers that you can simply plant out the following year. Devil's tongues can also be grown from seeds.
