Take action against unwanted fungal attack
Although some of the fungi that appear on bark mulch can be attractive in terms of color, many gardeners do not want them. It often helps to prick out the visible fruiting bodies of the mushrooms with a spade and bury them so that they cannot spread further via spores.
Tips & Tricks
If you are unable to eradicate the unwanted fungi on the bark mulch in the long term, sprinkling lime can remove moisture and thus end the fungal problem.
