What to do when a bromeliad flower dries up

Dried flowers do not mark the end of the maintenance program

Since most bromeliads only bloom once and then die, pruning does not initiate a second blooming period. Still, there is a compelling reason to continue caring for the dying bromeliad. At the end of the flowering period, daughter plants develop on the plant base. When these have developed a height of 10 cm and a strong rosette of leaves, they are separated from the mother plant. Potted in bromeliad, the Kindel bloom within 2 to 3 years.
