The consequences of flowering
The rocket sacrifices a lot of energy for its flowers. So harvest the leaves before they bloom. Otherwise, the rocket leaves are:
- narrower and smaller
- get harder
- bitter and spicy taste (high nitrate content)
But in principle, you can still harvest your rocket after flowering and consume it without damage. You can even eat the flowers and use them to give salads a great look!

Leave a few flowers to encourage the rocket to sow on its own.
