  • Brush out the joints well and scrape out any deteriorated mortar.
  • Thoroughly clean the garden wall, for example with a high-pressure cleaner (€ 89.00 at Amazon *).
  • Fill with quick-release cement marked for outdoor use and repair joints with grout.
  • Paint the entire surface twice with a special deep primer.

Allow enough time for the individual work steps, because after cleaning and painting you have to wait 12 to 24 hours before you can continue working.

Plaster the garden wall again

The same applies here: keep an eye on the weather report and then get down to work when some dry days are announced:

  • Use a screwdriver to check whether the old plaster is crumbling off in many places. If this crumbles when you move the tool over the surface, everything has to come down.
  • Then apply the primer.
  • Now bring in the reinforcement mats: Mix in some plaster and apply it to the edges. Press the reinforcement edges together with the reinforcement mats into the damp material and spread any excess plaster into the mats.
  • Plaster the entire garden wall.
  • In those areas where there is no reinforcement fabric, press the special fabric into the damp plaster and work it in with the smoothing trowel.
  • Allow the base plaster to harden thoroughly.
  • Then, if you wish, you can apply a decorative plaster.

Tips

If you want to re-plaster the garden wall, as with the primer, you must match the material to the stone or concrete below.
