These cacti stand up to frost and snow
The following cacti are not only masters in storing water, but also have a stable winter hardiness for outdoors:
- Opuntia (prickly pear cacti): from 10 to 100 cm height and hardy to impressive - 22 degrees Celsius

While there are numerous species and varieties of the popular prickly pear cacti that you can plant outside, only the specimens mentioned are hardy among the hedgehog cacti and ball cacti. For example, the popular gold ball cactus (Echinocactus grusonii) cannot cope with temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius.

The multi-faceted family of thick-leaf plants includes the wonderful genus of houseleeks, which cause a sensation outside in the garden with their magnificent leaf rosettes and wonderful flowers. Their preference for fresh air and sunshine even goes so far that Sempervivum are only partially suitable as indoor plants.

Outside, caring for your succulents is even easier than it is for your succulent houseplants.
