Where do you get seeds from?

If you already have a fully grown mother plant, you can try allowing the flowers to mature to obtain seeds. The fertilization of the plumeria is carried out outdoors by insects. If you only grow the Frangipani in the room, you have to fertilize the flowers with a brush.

  • Prepare the seed tray
  • Sow seeds
  • cover thinly

It is important that you let the seeds soak for at least a day. To do this, put it in lukewarm water. Without this pre-treatment, it will take much longer for the seeds to germinate.

Normal potting soil is suitable as a substrate, which you should mix with a little sand to make it more permeable. The seed also germinates quite well on coconut fibers.

Place the seed tray in a very bright and warm place. Avoid direct sunlight, however, as the seedlings then dry out too quickly or start to mold due to too much moisture.

Sow the frangipani in the seed bag

It is a little easier to grow frangipani from seeds in the germination bag. For this you need a sealable plastic bag. Fill this with perlite. Depending on the methods, it takes two to five weeks for the seeds of the frangipani to germinate. As soon as the plants have grown one to two centimeters high, you can prick them out.

Later, fill normal flower pots with nutritious soil and plant the plumeria young plants individually. They are now cared for like adult plants.

Tips

Growing frangipani from cuttings is less complicated and faster. The plants bloom much earlier. You will also receive single-variety offshoots.
