When you give someone jasmine, you are saying that you find him or her adorable. The pretty ornamental plant is therefore more of a gift for friends and partners in particular. Good opportunities to give away jasmine are:

  • Partner's birthday
  • anniversary
  • wedding day
  • as a little thanks

Giving the boss a jasmine plant for a birthday or anniversary is not advisable. You should also choose a different flower for your neighbors if you want to please them. There is, of course, one exception: if you know for sure that the recipient particularly loves jasmine or is looking for certain varieties, you are of course welcome to give them this flower.

Where does the name “Jasmin” come from?

The name jasmine comes from Persian. It means “fragrant oil”. The name Jasmin with its variations Yasmin or Jasemin is very popular with oriental girls and women.

Tips

Jasmine is poisonous due to the high content of essential oils. The best way to protect your hands during care is with gloves. If there are children or animals in the house, it is better to choose other non-toxic flowers as gifts.
