How you can use the car tires: the best ideas
You can of course simply lay the car tire on the lawn, fill it with soil and plant it. It's easy and quick. But you can also get a little creative and for example:
- Stack several car tires on top of each other like a wall, fill them with soil and plant them, for example to secure a slope or to hide a difference in height.
- Hang the car tire (s) on the wall and only plant the lower part, e.g. with hanging plants.
- Build a small, round raised bed by stacking several car tires on top of each other.
- Cut flower petals in the car tire, paint it and create a chic, colorful flower pot. In the following we explain how to do this.

Tips
In any case, the car tires look nicer when they are painted. It's best to spray or paint them with weatherproof paint and create splashes of color in your garden.
The car tire with flower petals
A painted car tire doesn’t look bad, but if you want to give it a little more shape, you can cut it as you like. It works like this.
What you need for this:
- chalk
- A big, sharp knife
- a lot of strength
- weatherproof, environmentally friendly paint
How to proceed:
- On the top from the inside edge, paint petals or semicircles around the car tire. The circles should reach no more than the outer edge. Make sure that they are as evenly distributed as possible and of the same size.
- Then cut out the sketch from the middle with a knife.
- When you've cut everything out, turn the car tire over. It takes a lot of effort, but it's how your petals bend outward!
- Then paint it as you wish, fill it with soil and plant it.
