Prick individual turf slabs up to 20 centimeters deep along the edge and lay them on their side. Fill the soil with mother earth, gravel or a sand-humus mixture so that the difference is evened out. Level the soil and give it a few days to set.
Then put the lawn tiles back on and step on them carefully. If you sprinkle the lawn well now, you should not be able to see anything of the work after a few days.
Lift large lawns
In the case of very large areas, it is easier to remove the old lawn and apply a correspondingly thick layer of topsoil.
If the lawn is very sparse, you can simply cover the old lawn with soil. Weeds, especially dandelions, groundgrass, couch grass and field horsetail, should be carefully removed beforehand.
Then sow the lawn again or lay a turf that has already formed a dense sward.
Fill in sinks in the lawn
Small depressions in the lawn can be filled with topsoil or humus garden soil. If the layer is only a few centimeters thick, the old grass will penetrate the new soil layer after a while.
In the case of deeper holes, you only have to fill in the depressions completely and sow new lawn seeds. To do this, choose the same seed from the rest of the lawn so that you do not get any unsightly shades.
Tips & Tricks
If the soil is very firm, it is worth trying, but it will take some time. Sprinkle a thin layer of fine sand between the lawn plants every two months. Over time, the lawn rises and the earth is loosened at the same time.
