An overview of suitable climbing aids
Ready-made climbing aids are available from specialist retailers for your window leaf, which are simply integrated into the bucket. A conventional climbing aid can be cheaper and just as stable, in order to be slightly modified for the plant. The following climbing aids have proven themselves well for the cultivation of Monstera:
- Moss pole
- Bamboo stick
- Telescopic pole
- Bamboo lattice
- Stainless steel or plastic grilles
- A long branch
- A thin PVC pipe
In order for the aerial roots to have sufficient hold, the material should have a rough surface to simulate the structure of tree bark. Wrap a climbing aid made of smooth material with coconut mats. (€ 116.09 at Amazon *) These are available in every garden center or hardware store and can be easily cut into the desired shape.
