Werkzeugbedarf und Vorbereitungsarbeiten

Bevor Sie sich dem Sieben von Gartenerde widmen, stellen Sie bitte das geeignete Werkzeug griffbereit und führen wichtige Vorbereitungsarbeiten durch. Sie benötigen einen Spaten, einen ausgedienten, sauberen Mörtelkübel, einen großen Gartenabfallsack sowie ein Erdsieb mit einer Maschenweite von 6 bis 7 Millimetern. So bereiten Sie den Siebvorgang sachkundig vor:

Collect the coarse plant remains in the garbage bag provided. The remains are usually not suitable for disposal on the compost. If you make compost yourself, you have no interest in later spreading any weed seeds or pathogenic pathogens it may contain in the garden. Collect the separated garden soil in the mortar bucket.

Sift garden soil properly - this is how it works

After the preparatory work, you can dedicate yourself to the fine-tuning. Gradually fill the pre-filtered soil into the soil sieve with one hand. Shake the sieve vigorously with the other hand. You can either collect the sieved soil in a bucket or let it trickle down into the bed. In some cases, thicker clods of earth have to be crushed by hand so that they fit through the narrow mesh.

Improve sifted soil

With a green manure as a recovery cure, you prepare poor quality garden soil perfectly for the planting plan of your choice. Native plants with deep roots loosen up compacted garden soil in a natural way. Sow lupins, sunflowers, oilseed rape and similar deep roots between May and October.
