Als Standort ist der Steingarten ideal. Durch die Steine wird der Boden feucht gehalten und auch die Versorgung mit Kalk für Clusius-Enziane ist sichergestellt. Kochsche Enziane fühlen sich dagegen eher unter Nadelgehölzen wohl.
Tipps zum Standort:
- Sonnig bis halbschattig
- Zu viel direkte Sonne vermeiden
- Nicht zu warm
- Etwas windgeschützt
Boden gut vorbereiten
Enzian, egal welche Sorte, verträgt Staunässe überhaupt nicht. Lockern Sie den Boden deshalb gut auf, damit Regen- und Gießwasser ablaufen kann.
Reichern Sie die Erde mit reifem Kompost und je nach Enzianart mit Kalk an.
Im Frühjahr pflanzen oder aussäen
Die beste Zeit zum Pflanzen ist das zeitige Frühjahr. Vorgezogene Enzianpflanzen vom Gärtner blühen meist schon nach ein paar Wochen.

How to care for the gentian
Once the gentian has really grown, not much care is required.
Water moderately but regularly so that the roots never dry out and are not too moist.
If the gentian does not want to bloom properly, depending on the variety, you can add lime or improve the soil with compost.
A little winter protection is good for the gentian
In principle, gentian is hardy, but sensitive plants in particular should be protected from excessive frost.
Before winter, cut the plants to thin them out. Cover the gentian with brushwood or other suitable material to overwinter.
Tips & Tricks
Gentian is not a houseplant. You can also care for the plants with their pretty blue flowers in pots or balcony boxes. But they belong outside on the terrace, balcony or outside window sill.
