Salt and boiling water in use

Boiling water must be poured over the respective plants immediately so that it can work. The best way is straight from the kettle. But often the entire taproot is not destroyed and the dandelion will soon sprout again.

Salt is mostly used as brine. To do this, a lot of salt is dissolved in water (until the solution is saturated). The plant that absorbs the salt through the irrigation water dies because it dries up.

Warning: Many home remedies are harmful to the environment

While boiling water doesn't really harm the environment, salt and vinegar are far more serious. You should only use such home remedies, which are chemically extremely aggressive, if you have not achieved success in prying out dandelions or if only a few plants are to be removed with these home remedies.

The best home remedy for dandelions: the mouth

The most natural and environmentally friendly home remedy for dandelions is your mouth! You can eat the dandelion. Its leaves as well as its flowers and roots are edible and even healthy in not excessive amounts. Animals that love green fodder such as guinea pigs, rabbits and grazing animals (sheep, cows, goats, etc.) also like dandelions and are happy to eat your property bare.
