Which parts of the nasturtiums are edible?
The leaves of the nasturtium are edible, but some find the taste a bit musty. Just like the flowers, they are suitable as an ingredient in a fresh salad. Here their taste is rather spicy and slightly hot. In addition, a tea can be made from the leaves to strengthen the immune system.
You can insert the unopened nasturtium buds as a so-called caper substitute. Even the unripe seeds are suitable for this type of preparation. They are boiled with a mixture of water, salt and vinegar.
