How is the convertible rose cut back?
First, carefully cut out everything that has faded. How much the plant is then shortened depends on where you hibernate it:
- If the convertible rose moves to a warm room, only a slight shape cut is made.
- For wintering in a bright cold room, you can shorten the shoots by about a third. As a result, the small shrub requires less space and is easier to accommodate.
- If the plant winters in a very dark room, all twigs are cut back to a hand's width. Due to the lack of leaves, the light requirement drops to zero.
Tips
Since the convertible rose is not winter-proof, the small shrub cannot be overwintered outdoors. Even temperatures below five degrees are not good for her and can cause severe damage.
