How are the onions planted?

Planting the onions is easy:

  • Place in lukewarm water for a few hours
  • Prepare a pot or bed with soil
  • dig a hole 5 to 6 cm deep
  • Place the tuber in the hole with the roots down, cover with soil and press down
  • Distance between individual tubers: 10 to 15 cm
  • only water when the plants sprout out of the ground

Which location do ranunculus need?

Ranunculus are content with many locations. They can thrive both in the sun and in the shade. Basically, you should prefer a partially shaded location.

These perennials can do well in the blazing sun. But the direct midday sun weakens them. They prefer a cool and moist place in a protected location to grow. Whether in a bucket, pot, balcony box or directly outdoors - the choice is yours!

Can you also sow the plant?

Anyone who has harvested the seeds after the flowering period can of course also sow the ranunculus! It is best to sow between September and October. In order to ensure the survival of the newly hatched plants, it is advisable to put them in pots and to overwinter in them for the winter in a cool but frost-free place.

Ranunculus looks good on its own as well as with other plants. You can also benefit from its shading properties. Well suited as plant neighbors are among others:

The flowering time of these easy-care perennials starts depending on the particular variety you have planted. Usually flowering starts around mid-June. It usually ends at the end of July.
