How to deal with offshoots correctly
Small offshoots, also called kindels, form on the green lily. If the leaves of these runners have reached a length of about 5 - 7 cm, then you can safely separate them from the mother plant. Cut off the lower leaves so they cannot rot and place the cuttings in a container with water until small roots have formed.
Sometimes the roots are already formed when the children are still connected to the mother plant. You can plant these cuttings in a pot with potting soil or potting soil immediately after separation. For good growth, mix a little compost under the soil and place the young plant in a warm place.
In the third variant, you plant the offshoot without roots in nutrient-rich soil. This time, however, do not separate the child from the mother plant. Always keep the soil of the young plant a little moist, without waterlogging. After about six weeks, roots will have formed and you can separate the young plant from the mother plant.
