Thorn-proof gloves for handling armed plants. Of course, various succulents should not be missing as the main characters. This is how the planting in the glass works properly:

  • Spread expanded clay balls 1-2 cm high on the floor as drainage
  • Fill in succulent soil over it and moisten it with soft water
  • Dig small planting pits with a spoon or prick stick
  • Pot each plant and plant in a hollow
  • Press down the substrate with a spoon for a good connection to the soil

  • Water with soft water for the first time one week after planting
  • From March to October, always water the substrate when it is palpably dry
  • Apply liquid succulent fertilizer every 3 to 4 weeks from May to September

Succulents like to spend the winter breather in the glass in a bright, cool location with temperatures around 15 degrees Celsius. Because of the reduced evaporation, watering is very rarely or not required at all. Regular finger tests indicate whether there is a need for water or not. The soil should not dry out completely. Succulents do not receive fertilizers during winter.

Tips

Succulents in a glass like to spend the warm season on the sunny balcony. If the plants here have the opportunity to enjoy fresh air and direct sun, they produce the long-awaited flowers more often than with year-round indoor cultivation. Ideally, the selected glass vessel is protected from rain and open on one or two sides for good air circulation.
