Does the honeysuckle have to be forcibly watered?
A honeysuckle outdoors does not necessarily have to be watered regularly. If it is in a partially shaded place and its feet are cool, the gardener does not need a water supply. The exceptions are hot and dry periods in summer. Then the honeysuckle should best be supplied with water every day.

Lime-free water such as rainwater is used for watering. In addition, do not forget to water the honeysuckle sparingly even in winter on frost-free days. This is especially true when the plant is in the bucket. Every time the soil is too dry, the susceptibility to pests like lice increases significantly.
Does the honeysuckle need fertilizer?
Usually, fertilizing an outdoor honeysuckle is not compulsory if it has been planted in nutrient-rich soil. On the other hand, a honeysuckle in the bucket should be provided with a suitable liquid fertilizer once a month during its main vegetation period between March and September.
If you want to fertilize your honeysuckle outdoors, use a complete organic fertilizer or compost. You can mix the compost into the soil in both spring and autumn. But be careful: honeysuckles have shallow roots!
When and how are these plants pruned?
- wear gloves when cutting (honeysuckle is poisonous)
- radical pruning: if necessary, carry out in old age
- Thinning out: remove dead, overly dense and diseased shoots
- Let the central drives exist
- Cut back bald spots

Which diseases and pests can be dangerous?
As soon as you see sick shoots, cut them off! The honeysuckle is sometimes attacked by powdery mildew. Aphids in particular appear on pests during drought.

In winter you don't need to worry about your honeysuckle. It is considered to be hardy and, in rough locations, enjoys a protective layer of earth, compost, leaves or brushwood.
