Where do you get euro pallets from?

You can find Euro pallets (€ 16.99 at Amazon *) at commercial companies. There they are given for little money. Just ask once. You will also find it in the local classifieds.

Pre-treat pallets

Before screwing them together, carefully sand the pallets with sandpaper. If you want to paint them, treat them with primer beforehand and apply the varnish when the pallets are completely dry.

Assemble the sun lounger from pallets

Screw two pallets on top of each other. Then two elements are put together. They make up the lying area.

If you wish, you can screw a pallet upright to one side of the new bed. They form the back wall for the garden lounger. If this wall is too high for you, shorten the Euro pallet accordingly.

Since pallets are quite heavy, you should attach rollers at the bottom. Then the lounger can be moved more easily.

Sew upholstery for the sun lounger

So that you can lie comfortably on the lounger, you can get foam from a retailer. You will need two pallet-sized pieces and a half-sized piece as an extra pillow. Make sure that the foam is as thick as possible. Cut it so that it completely covers the lying surface of the garden lounger.

Awning fabric is suitable as a cover material. It is particularly tear-resistant and breathable. This allows moisture to be better dissipated.

Cut the fabric so that you can sew covers for the upholstery on it. You should work in zips as a closure. Then the covers can be easily removed later for washing.

Tips

If you do not screw the Euro pallets together lengthways, but connect them crosswise, you get a wider lying surface. You then have a garden lounger that comfortably seats two people.
