Requirements for the location outdoors and in rooms
A light location is important to preserve and at the same time promote the bushy growth. Otherwise the shoots fall apart and become bald. Places in a sunny to partially shaded location are well suited outdoors. The plant should be quartered in winter as it is sensitive to frost.
In order to keep the subsequent maintenance as low as possible, the following should be observed in the room culture of Impatiens:
- bright, warm room
- well suited: north, east and west windows
- South windows have a detrimental effect
- airy
- moderate to high humidity
Tips
Do not expose the balsam to the direct midday sun! Otherwise the flowers will fade and wither faster.
