Forsythia do not need a special location

Forsythias grow almost everywhere

Forsythia are undemanding in terms of location. Actually, they grow wherever there is space, regardless of whether they are sunny, partially shaded or completely in the shade.

There are two things that forsythia dislike. One is too dry a place, the other too humid.

Even brief periods of drought can seriously damage forsythia. They also cannot tolerate waterlogging. The roots of the forsythia begin to rot in the soil if the moisture continues.

Tips & Tricks

Forsythia's roots don't go very deep. Therefore, the shrub is well suited for underplanting trees, especially since forsythia can cope with little sun.
